| The first in the state, Hartford Hospital's Lightspeed VCT scanner is more than twice as fast as conventional multi-slice CT scanners. In a single rotation lasting about a third of a second the VCT captures 64 slices of anatomic data. In a complete exam lasting only five to six seconds over 2000 images are obtained producing spectacular three-dimensional views of the heart, arteries, and veins. |
